Day 3: Nelson - Christina Lake - Camp McKinney Ghost Town - Osoyoos

Day 3 - 284 km (913 km total)

Our first summit pass between Castlegar and Christina Lake made me a bit nervous as my bikes “fuel range” kept dropping quickly and I wasn’t sure if I would run out of gas or not! I am now confident that I can ride at least 275km (probably 300km) between fillups .

We stopped at Christina Lake for a beach picnic that was quickly enjoyed before the rain chased us away, but I was rewarded with an affogato break in Grand Forks. Sarah found a “ghost town” on the map, so we decided to explore that. It turned out to be a bit of a dumping ground, with a medley of things including delapitated RV trailers and creepy dolls strapped into chairs...

We finished the day off with a “golden hour” drive into Osoyoos and stopped into a super cute B&B called the White Horse. Our hosts brought us Sundaes as we were enjoying the sunset!!

Also, the temporary repair on the brake lever has been doing great! A bolt fixed into a groove with wire, superglued in and supportted with duct tape... so far so good!
