Take a Moment to Collect your Thoughts

Take your time and ask for "a moment to collect your thoughts".

This applies to interviews as much as day-to-day work. It might feel a bit awkward at first, but taking some time let's your mind put your thoughts in order. Bonus: you come off as thoughtful!

So if you're feeling like you don't have an answer ready to go, take a moment, clarify the question, and plan out the key skills you'll highlight in answering the question.
